Langdon Little League – FAQ

 

  1. What dates and times do each Division play and where?
    • T-Ball: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7pm (Langdon Diamonds)
    • Coach Pitch Div 1/ Div 2: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7pm (Langdon Diamonds)
    • Minors: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm – 8pm (Langdon, Indus, Chestermere Diamonds)
    • Majors: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm (Langdon, Indus, Chestermere Diamonds)
    • Intermediate: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm (Langdon, Indus, Chestermere Diamonds)
    • Juniors: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm (Langdon, Indus, Calgary, Carseland Diamonds)

 

  1. What are the general dates for the Baseball Season?
    • Indoor season (conditioning camp/ evaluations) generally commences mid-March for Minors/ Majors/ Intermediate/ Juniors/ Seniors age groups
    • Outdoor season generally commences from May to mid-June
      • T-Ball & Coach Pitch currently do not engage in indoor season activities
    • Summer Ball - Minors / Majors / Intermediate / Juniors
      • Those players who would like to play Summer ball, this is a “Travel” team
      • They will play other teams from Alberta in their Division of A, AA, AAA
      • Practices are during the week and tournaments are on weekends
      • Season Runs from 3rd week in June to August long weekend.
  2. What Division would my child be based on Age?
    • T-Ball - Age 3-6
    • Coach Pitch Div 1 & Div 2 - Ages 7-8
    • Minors - Ages 9-10
    • Majors - Ages 11-12
    • Intermediate  - Ages 12-13
    • Juniors - 13-15

4) What Equipment must be provided by the parents / guardians?

  • All Players (T-Ball - Seniors) must provide their own baseball glove, protective cup, batting helmet.
  • Minors - Seniors players have the opportunity to purchase their own baseball pants and belt through our registration process.
  • T-Ball - Coach Pitch will be provided their jerseys and hats to keep.
  • Minors - Seniors will be provided with a long sleeve shirt and Hat to keep.
  • Minors - Seniors will be provided a jersey that is required to be returned at end of the season.

6) I can’t afford the fees - What should i do?

  • Under the Little League charter, no child may be excluded from play based on inability to pay.  Subsidies are available through Kidsport - Visit our website www.strikersbaseball.ca for more information.

 

What do I do if I have concerns regarding my athletes coaches and/or team manager?

Your first attempt should be to address your concerns with the coach away from the diamond/athletes. If you feel your concerns have not been addressed, the next step is contacting the administrator/player agent. Each knows how to assess the situation and will seek support from the board if needed.

Rain-outs, how will I know if the game is cancelled?

Coaches / Umpires are responsible for deciding to play a game or not. Your coach will contact you if a game is to be cancelled. This will be updated on your Sports Sign up Play APP

How do I communicate with my Coaches?

Communication will go through our Sports Sign up Play APP - You will be able to message the team and coaches. Your coaches will send out communication thru this app. You will also be able to ask your fellow parents for assistance on carpooling thru the app.

Can my child be on the same team as his friend?

Due to increasing registrations, LLL has implemented a procedure that one reciprocated friend request will be honoured at the Coach Pitch and T-ball divisions. This is to ensure we maintain our focus on fair play and division parity, and to avoid inadvertently creating "built" teams through multiple friend requests.

LLL will take note of each request and keep it into consideration when assigning players to team rosters; however, no guarantees will be made.

Once registration closes and the rosters have been released, additional questions can be directed to your division coordinator.

is insurance taken out for players?

Yes, LLL is required to have player insurance during the season. Insurance is administered by Little League Alberta.

What is the Cost per division

T-Ball - $120.00

Coach Pitch - $130.00

Minors - $195.00

Majors - $200.00

Intermediate - $200.00

Juniors - $200.00

Seniors - 220.00

Early bird discount of $20.00 is available for all registrations prior to Feb 15, 2021

a $5.00 LCA membership is added to each FAMILY registration.
